   Abstract:	Asample of 19 healthy persons were tested by means of a specially adapted measuring device in order to obtain module values and bioimpedance phase angles in ten reference points distributed along the oral mucosa. The measurements were carried out at ten approximately logarithmic frequencies set out within the range of 30 Hz to 1 MHz. Each measurement lasted 30 seconds.The results showed significant similarities on the group distribution of measuring points. This lead to the conclusion that the relevant measuring points were at lingual dorsum mucosa, hard palate and buccal mucosa, whereas the values for other less accessible regions did not significantly differ from the former. It was also found thatthe measuring results were concentrated at low and high frequencies. Therefore, it is advisable to narrow down themeasuring range to 103 - 105 Hz.

   Abstract:	The object of the study was to determine the incidence of the following oral diseases, Aphthae recidivante, Lichen ruber planus, symptoms of xerostomia and stomatopyrosis, and oral parafunction, bruxism and dysgeusia and to examine their possible connection with different intensities of psychological characteristics of self-esteem, anxiety and neuroticism in a sample of inhabitants from the Gorski Kotar area.The study consisted of 277 subjects in whom a detailed oral examination and oral testing were performed. Psychological testing was performed by using part of pychotest “18 PF”.The examination showed that in the area of Fuæina and Lokava oral parafunction most frequently occurred (in 36.1% of subjects) aphthae lesions (19.2%), followed by bruxism (13.7%), xerostomia (12.27%) and stomatopyrosis (10.3%). Taste disorders (2.3%) and oral lichen (1.2%) rarely occurred.The psychological examination indicated that there was a tendency towards a high level of self-esteem, low level of anxiety and still lower level of general neuroticism. Positive correlation was determined between the occurrence of xerostomia, stomatopyrosis, recurring aphthae and bruxism in relation to the occurrence of anxiety, and stomatopyrosis and xerostomia with neuroticism. The findings were statistically significant, although on the basis of such descriptive examinations it is impossible to claim that the examined psychological characteristics are the cause of the occurrence of these diseases, only that they are significantly connected with their occurrence.

   Abstract:	The potential presence of Candida albicans in oral leukokeratotic lesions, also entailing the need of additional antimiotic therapy, has been quite extensively discussed in literature. Therefore, the aim of this study was to assess the prevalence of Candida albicans isolates in subjects with oral leukoplakia as well as of candidal leukoplakia according to oral mucosa regions. The study included 60 subjects, mean age 46 years. A study group had 28 subjects with oral leukoplakia, whereas a control group comprised subjects free of any pathological alterations of oral mucosa. In all subjects, a clinical oral examination was performed and material for microbiological analysis taken. Following cultivation and incubation, tests of identification and microbiological analysis were carried out on the material thus grown. Results of the study revealed that Candida albicans was present in 67.9% of subjects with oral leukoplakia, which is the highest percentage reported on so far, and in 28.1% of subjects without any pathologic alterations of oral mucosa. The prevalence of candidal leukoplakia was found to be highest in oral mucosa, followed by lips, tongue and sublingual mucosa. Thus, these findings appear to clearly confirm the need of additional use of antimicotics, along with antikeratotic therapy of leukoplakia.
